Figure Drawing Reflection

This is my last year doing figure drawing with Tommy and I think I have improved a lot. I definitely struggled with my gesture drawings in the beginning, but as we transitioned to longer drawings I felt more comfortable. The main issue I had was getting lost within the work. My marks would be too thick or dark, and as I kept correcting them the drawing just got worse and worse. A lot of the time it was when we switched to details with a different material that I could finally see and fix my lines. This is clear in the middle drawing. I also had a lot of fun with value and especially enjoyed the drawing on the left. I didn't get to finish, but I liked drawing the shadows of the fabric the most. I really do not have fun drawing faces, I know that were not supposed to skip it because it's hard but it's just so frustrating to do. I would much rather go very detailed on the hair, clothes, or body. I think the biggest improvement compared to last year would be learning to zoom in on the sections I enjoyed, as overall the drawings turn out much better.
