Home Project Progress Post

This project looks a bit different from what I've been doing in class last year. I've decided to move away from sculpture and do watercolor, which I tried during my home project last year. This piece is supposed to represent mother nature but my original idea was to have her holding a string, appearing to have "hung the moon". Instead, the moon is now hanging by her side and the string is attached to the sun, as if she is switching them out. I really enjoyed making this piece and was pleasantly surprised by how well it ended up looking. I searched up a tutorial on water color foliage and I think that helped a lot. I also used great reference photos, which is not something I did with sculpture. Overall I think I would like to explore this media and idea further throughout this year.
