Process Post: 2nd Semester Home Project

For this project I want to switch mediums. I have done sculpture for every project this year and am thinking of trying something new. My last piece was very challenging to build and made me want to take a break from thinking so hard. Screwing and sawing and gluing is not exactly a serene experience. In my sketchbook I have some colored pencil drawings of the female figure + abstract work. These pieces, like my sculptures, were a product of a train of thought but they were even more loose as they took less effort. Coach Hall said I should do more of these so that's what I plan to do, but I am not going to use colored pencils. I experimented with chalk pastels first but I think watercolor is the way to go. Pictured above is a practice piece of what I am going to try to do for my home project. I'm really excited to move my work in a completely different direction.
