  • Subject: I generally seem to depict a lot of people and places. I've depicted a couple fictional characters, one from a show and another a book. I've also drawn real people like my cousin and a model. Some things I draw are just parts of people, like eyes and skeletal structures. Most of the places I've drawn are buildings for a specific assignment, like St. Peter's Basilica for the Renaissance or parts of Middle Eastern Architecture. However I've also drawn Hogwarts and general places that aren't buildings, like windows or a specific view of my neighborhood.

  • Content: My general themes are hard to identify as the motivation for most of my work has stemmed from a specific assignment. Generally I like the theme of a story, whether fictional or real.

  • Medium: I really enjoy using paper. I like the textures of different types, but my favorite part has to do with process.

  • Process: I love the aesthetics of collage, especially when I draw or paint over multiple layers of paper. I love how things are stackable and the freedom I have to cut things. I like 3D.

  • Enjoyment: The single thing I fully completed in my sketchbook was a collage inspired by one of my favorite books. It involved multiple processes, and I both painted with watercolor and drew. I also did a photo transfer onto a thin piece f cardboard and used materials like ribbon.

  • Critique: I think the page mentioned above was so successful as it was a mix of mediums. Another successful page was one of my first depictions of a window., again the unique medium made it interesting. Two of play pages, one of a paper doll and other the top of my hanging chair, I'm also proud of. They both have a sense of movement. My most recent favorite page was a realistic drawing of eyes with a kind of surrealist aspect. The message of the page makes it stand out.
